When Nick Jonas thinks back to his wedding day with Priyanka Chopra Jonas, it wasn’t the ceremony, the vows, or the spotlight that made him nervous.

Instead, the singer admitted it was the heat — and the fear of sweating through his carefully chosen attire.

“I wasn’t nervous about anything else,” he told Jay Shetty on the Feb. 4 episode of On Purpose. “I was just worried I was going to look crazy in the heat.”

Calm Amid the Ceremony

Nick and Priyanka tied the knot in December 2018 in India with two celebrations: a Western Christian wedding and a traditional Hindu ceremony honoring Priyanka’s roots.

For the Hindu ceremony, Nick wore a turban and sherwani, which he joked could get “so hot.” Despite the sweltering day, he says he felt a profound sense of peace when Priyanka walked down the stairs.

Priyanka, 43, agreed. She described him as confident, calm, and in control, never appearing nervous.

Life Together Beyond the Spotlight

The couple married just six months after meeting and have built a life that blends family, career, and culture. In January 2022, they welcomed their first child, daughter Malti, via surrogate.

In a Feb. 11 interview with Variety, Priyanka addressed ongoing rumors about their marriage, saying she no longer focuses on speculation. She reflected on marrying quickly and how Nick’s consistent sincerity inspires her in both life and work.

A Window Into Public and Private Lives

The Jonas-Chopra marriage continues to attract public attention, partly due to their high-profile careers and cultural influence. But moments like Nick’s reflection on sweating at his wedding remind fans that behind the glamorous headlines are universal, human experiences: nerves, love, and joy in the small details.

Eight years in, the couple seems to navigate fame, family, and intimacy with the same care they brought to their wedding day — a mix of mindfulness, devotion, and quiet humor.
