For many people, self-discovery doesn’t follow a timeline. Actor Anna Camp says she’s learning that firsthand.

The Pitch Perfect star spoke candidly about her sexuality during an appearance on the podcast I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario, revealing publicly for the first time that she identifies as bisexual.

In a clip from the March 10 episode, Camp described the moment as both personal and empowering, saying she feels proud to share this part of her life — even knowing it may invite public scrutiny.

Speaking with podcast host Tommy DiDario, Camp reflected on how her understanding of herself has changed over time.

“At 43, I’m very proud of myself for owning my sexuality at this age,” she said, describing the experience as part of what she called a “major evolution” in her life.

The actor acknowledged that sharing something so personal in a public forum can feel risky. But she also said the decision reflects a deeper commitment to living honestly.

Camp said she has come to see growth as something ongoing rather than fixed — an understanding that has shaped how she approaches both her personal life and career.

“You only get one life,” she said. “I want to be happy.”

Camp’s announcement comes months after she confirmed a relationship with writer and on-set stylist Jade Whipkey in May 2025.

The couple later appeared together on the red carpet at the June premiere of Camp’s action-comedy film Bride Hard, making their relationship public in a visible way.

In a July interview with Cosmopolitan, Camp said she and Whipkey were surprised by the level of online attention their relationship generated.

Still, she noted that much of the reaction was supportive, something she described as both reassuring and meaningful.

Camp’s personal life has evolved in the public eye over the years.

She was previously married to actor Michael Mosley from 2010 to 2013. Later, she married her Pitch Perfect co-star Skylar Astin in 2016. The couple separated in April 2019 and finalized their divorce later that year.

Looking back, Camp said she once believed she had a clear picture of how her life would unfold — only to discover that personal growth sometimes means revisiting those assumptions.

Rather than feeling constrained by earlier expectations, she said she has chosen to keep evolving.

Camp remains active professionally as well. She currently appears in the latest installment of the long-running horror franchise, Scream 7, which is now in theaters.

Her appearance on I’ve Never Said This Before is part of the show’s weekly Tuesday episodes, where guests discuss personal experiences they may not have previously shared publicly.

For Camp, that conversation became an opportunity to speak openly about a new chapter in her life.

Public figures sharing their personal journeys can carry broader meaning, especially when those conversations challenge the idea that identity is fixed early in life.

Camp’s comments highlight something many people experience quietly: the realization that growth can continue well into adulthood.

Her story adds another visible voice to LGBTQ+ representation in Hollywood — particularly among actors who come out later in their careers.
