Even celebrities need a night out now and then.

For longtime friends Mandy Moore and Hilary Duff, that meant singing along in the crowd at a Bruce Springsteen concert in Los Angeles — a relaxed evening that looked more like a gathering of old friends than a star-studded outing.

Moore later shared a glimpse of the night online, capturing a small moment of joy as the group joined thousands of fans listening to one of rock’s most enduring voices.

A Springsteen Soundtrack for Date Night

Moore, 42, attended the show with her husband, musician Taylor Goldsmith. They were joined by Duff, 38, and Duff’s husband, songwriter Matthew Koma.

On Instagram Stories, Moore posted a short clip of the group smiling and singing along as Springsteen performed his classic 1975 anthem “Born to Run.”

“Mentally I’m still here,” Moore wrote alongside the video, tagging Goldsmith, Duff, and Koma.

Duff and Koma later shared the same clip with their own followers on April 9, echoing the feeling many concertgoers know well — when the music lingers long after the lights come back on.

A Legendary Performer Still on the Road

Springsteen, now 76, is currently touring the United States on his Land of Hope and Dreams tour.

The tour has drawn longtime fans as well as younger audiences discovering the singer’s decades-spanning catalog.

Songs like “Born to Run,” first released in the mid-1970s, remain staples of his live shows — the kind of music that often turns an ordinary night out into a shared memory.

A Friendship That Goes Back Years

Moore and Duff’s concert outing reflects a friendship that has grown over time.

Moore has often shown public support for Duff’s music career, especially during Duff’s recent return to performing.

Earlier this year, Duff wrapped her Small Rooms, Big Nerves tour in Los Angeles, following the release of her album luck…or something.

Moore celebrated the milestone on social media, praising Duff’s performance and sharing clips from the show — including one of Duff performing her 2025 single “Mature,” which Moore called her favorite.

Family Life Behind the Spotlight

Both actresses balance their public careers with busy family lives.

Duff shares four children: her son Luca Cruz, 13, with former husband Mike Comrie, and daughters Banks Violet, 7, Mae James, 4, and Townes Meadow, 20 months, with Koma.

Moore and Goldsmith are parents to three young children: August “Gus” Harrison, 5, Oscar “Ozzie” Bennett, 3, and Louise “Lou” Everett, 1.

The two families have occasionally shared glimpses of their friendship online, including a holiday gathering in December 2025 where their children and mutual friends spent time together.

When Friendship Meets Music

For many fans, concerts are about more than the performer on stage. They’re also about who you share the moment with.

Moore’s short video captured exactly that — friends laughing, singing along, and enjoying a few carefree hours together.

Even in the middle of busy careers and growing families, a good song and good company can still make for the perfect night out.
