A quiet Sunday afternoon in Beverly Hills took an unsettling turn when gunshots were reportedly fired toward the home of global music star Rihanna.

Police say the singer was inside the property at the time. No one was injured, but the incident has raised fresh questions about the safety and privacy of high-profile figures whose homes often attract attention.

Authorities arrested a woman shortly after the shooting, bringing a tense situation to a close without further incident.

The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a report of “shots fired” at about 1:15 p.m. on March 8 at a residence in Beverly Hills, California.

Officers arrived and quickly located a suspect, a 30-year-old woman who was taken into custody without incident. Police said a weapon was recovered at the scene.

No injuries were reported, according to authorities.

The investigation is now being handled by the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division, which typically oversees serious or high-profile cases.

Police say the suspect allegedly fired several rounds toward the home from inside a vehicle parked across the street.

Radio dispatch audio reviewed by local media suggested that roughly 10 shots may have been fired. The vehicle — described as a white Tesla — was seen leaving the area southbound on Coldwater Canyon Drive.

Officials have not publicly identified the suspect or shared details about what may have led to the incident.

A source familiar with the situation said Rihanna was inside the house when the shooting occurred and is “okay.”

The singer shares the home with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their three young children: RZA Athelston Mayers, Riot Rose Mayers and Rocki Mayers.

It is not clear whether anyone else was present at the time.

For families, even a brief scare like this can linger long after the sirens fade — especially when it happens at home, the place meant to feel safest.

Incidents involving celebrities’ homes have become more common in recent years, from trespassing to attempted break-ins and targeted harassment.

Public figures often live in highly visible neighborhoods, where their addresses can easily circulate online. Security teams, surveillance systems and gated properties can help, but they rarely eliminate the risk entirely.

For artists like Rihanna — whose career spans music, fashion and business — the challenge is balancing a public life with a private one.

Moments like Sunday’s remind fans that even global icons navigate the same fears many people do: protecting family and feeling safe at home.

In the end, no one was hurt and the suspect is in custody.

Still, the sudden sound of gunfire in an otherwise quiet neighborhood is the kind of moment that lingers — for residents, for police, and likely for the family inside the house that day.

Sometimes the most powerful detail in a story is also the simplest one: everyone walked away safely.
